First Aid At Concordia

Welcome to Concordia’s First Aid Online Program. As educators we are often faced with medical situations in which we think what should I do? This course is designed to give you an overview of some of the more common medical situations you may encounter and how to deal with them.  The goal is to make you feel more comfortable and confident in your decisions when faced with the unexpected. Each teacher must take the First Aid at Concordia online training course every year prior to working with students.

This is not a first aid certification course. This is not comprehensive but a starting point, which is required annually of staff that have direct contact with children.

Password Strategies

In Password Strategies we explain how to create good passwords and encourage you to use them. Creating good passwords is a skill, which requires practice to improve.Passwords are a critical but often discounted aspect of our digital lives. A password is like a key in that it enables you to open a door – to the file cabinet in which you keep your bank, health, and tax records, to your mailbox, or to your house. A password is like your signature in that it lets you buy online, transfer money, or send official communications. If someone has your passwords s/he can take your money, invade your private matters, and masquerade as you before friends and family.Don’t be caught unprepared: it’s time to create and consistently use good passwords. Good passwords, when used, will help:* Secure your personal and work information
* Prevent use of your accounts to harm another person
* Hinder intrusion into Concordia systems

Teacher Tech @ Concordia

Concordia teachers are expected to understand and utilize technology both to carry out school business and in support of student learning. At the same time our philosophy is that tech is not the center, but rather tech is a set of tools to help us along the way. No one has “arrived.” We all need to support and learn from one another and we are in this together. All new faculty members should complete Teacher Tech @ Concordia prior to arriving at Concordia. Returning teachers should review the information as needed.

Taking Control Your Digital Life

Modern day humanoids find themselves overwhelmed with the sheer volume of input and digital communication that flows in each day. Email, instant messages, and the Internet have made access to information (and you) far too easy. “I only have 54 emails left to answer” is too often the depressing indicator of a successful day.

The good news is that while access to information (and you) have increased exponentially, so have tools to help manage those streams of digital input and communication.
